The district of the Municipality of Prepotto is located in the east of the Friuli Venezia Giulia region on the border with Slovenia on one side and with the Collio Goriziano on the other. With its 400 hectares of vineyards, it represents about 20% of the Colli Orientali del Friuli production area. The distance of about 30 km from both the Adriatic Sea and the Julian Pre-Alps, makes it easy to guess the presence of large climatic differences between the individual vineyards and the relative exposures. These differences strongly express the concept of territory (terroir), where the quality aspect is not revealed in a mere comparison, but takes the form of the peculiar characteristics (the soul) of the wine itself, acquired from the territory and its environment.
