Pinot Bianco

DOC Friuli Colli Orientali.

This variety arrived in the mid-nineteenth century from France. It derives genetically from Pinot Noir and has integrated very well in some areas of Friuli. It presents itself with small and compact clusters in the shape of a pine cone: from here the name "Pinot" seems to originate, with golden yellow berries when fully ripe. This variety, if kept in condition of producing only a few bunches per plant, generates an elegant and very deep wine. Its aromatic notes are subtle and discreet, but with great character. Never brash, it is persuasive, versatile and exceptionally combinable.
